Privacy policy
Effective October 14, 2026
We use your phone number or email only to send you sign-in codes. We never send marketing texts or emails, and we never sell or share your phone number or other mobile information with third parties for their marketing.
Who we are
MeetPoint is an app that helps groups of friends choose a plan together. It is run from California, USA. Questions about this policy: hello@getmeetpoint.com.
What we collect
- Sign-in details: your phone number or email address.
- Your profile: your name, a username, the city and approximate point you usually leave from, how far you'll travel, your usual budget and the activities you like.
- Your people: friends you add. For a friend without an account you enter a name, where they leave from and what they like; their phone or email is optional and only used if you later invite them.
- Plans: the plans you create or join, the changes you make for one plan, your votes and the result.
- Notifications: if you allow them, the push address your browser or phone gives us.
- Security data: your IP address and the number of code requests, kept for about an hour to stop abuse.
We don't use advertising trackers or sell any data.
How we use it
- To sign you in, with a one-time code sent by text message or email.
- To suggest plans that fit your group and to count the votes.
- To remind you about your plans through app notifications.
- To keep the service safe, for example by limiting how many codes can be requested.
Text messages
If you sign in with a phone number, we send you a one-time sign-in code by SMS. That is the only message we send: one per sign-in request, no marketing and no recurring messages. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out; after STOP we won't text you again, and you can sign in with an email instead. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
Who we share it with
We only share data with the services that run MeetPoint for us, and only what they need:
- Amazon Web Services hosts the app and database and delivers the sign-in emails and texts.
- Google Maps Platform receives search areas and activity types to find places. It doesn't receive your name, phone or email.
- Push services (from Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft, depending on your device) deliver notifications.
Other people in a plan see your name and the group's results. They don't see your phone number, your email or where you leave from.
How long we keep it
Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. Notifications are deleted after 60 days. Your profile and plans are kept until you delete your account. When you delete it, we remove your data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it.
Your choices
You can see and change your profile in the app at any time. To get a copy of your data or delete your account, write to hello@getmeetpoint.com from the email or phone you use to sign in. Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union) you have additional rights, including access, correction, deletion and objection; we honor them for everyone.
Children
MeetPoint is not meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.

Usamos tu teléfono o email solo para enviarte códigos de acceso. Nunca enviamos mensajes ni emails de publicidad, y nunca vendemos ni compartimos tu número de teléfono u otra información de tu móvil con terceros para su publicidad.
Quiénes somos

Qué datos recogemos
- Datos de acceso: tu teléfono o tu email.
- Tu perfil: tu nombre, un nombre de usuario, la ciudad y el punto aproximado desde el que sueles salir, hasta dónde llegas, tu presupuesto habitual y lo que te gusta hacer.
- Tu gente: los amigos que añades. De un amigo sin cuenta guardas su nombre, desde dónde sale y lo que le gusta; su teléfono o email es opcional y solo se usa si más adelante lo invitas.
- Planes: los planes que creas o a los que te unes, los cambios que haces para un plan, tus votos y el resultado.
- Notificaciones: si las permites, la dirección de notificaciones que nos da tu navegador o tu móvil.
- Seguridad: tu dirección IP y cuántos códigos se han pedido, durante una hora aproximadamente, para evitar abusos.
No usamos rastreadores publicitarios ni vendemos ningún dato.
Para qué los usamos
- Para que entres, con un código de un solo uso por SMS o email.
- Para proponer planes que encajen con tu grupo y contar los votos.
- Para recordarte tus planes con notificaciones de la app.
- Para mantener el servicio seguro, por ejemplo limitando cuántos códigos se pueden pedir.
Mensajes de texto
Si entras con tu teléfono, te enviamos un código de acceso de un solo uso por SMS. Es el único mensaje que enviamos: uno por cada vez que pides un código, sin publicidad y sin mensajes periódicos. Tu operador puede cobrar mensajes y datos. Responde HELP para pedir ayuda o STOP para darte de baja; después de STOP no te enviaremos más mensajes y puedes entrar con un email. No compartimos información de tu móvil con terceros ni filiales para fines de marketing o promoción. Los datos de consentimiento para recibir mensajes no se comparten con terceros.
Con quién los compartimos
Solo con los servicios que hacen funcionar MeetPoint, y solo lo que necesitan:
- Amazon Web Services aloja la app y la base de datos y entrega los emails y SMS de acceso.
- Google Maps Platform recibe zonas de búsqueda y tipos de actividad para encontrar sitios. No recibe tu nombre, teléfono ni email.
- Servicios de notificaciones (de Apple, Google, Mozilla o Microsoft, según tu dispositivo) entregan las notificaciones.
Los demás participantes de un plan ven tu nombre y los resultados del grupo. No ven tu teléfono, tu email ni desde dónde sales.
Cuánto tiempo los guardamos
Los códigos de acceso caducan a los 10 minutos. Las notificaciones se borran a los 60 días. Tu perfil y tus planes se guardan hasta que borres tu cuenta. Cuando la borras, eliminamos tus datos en un plazo de 30 días, salvo lo que la ley nos obligue a conservar.
Tus opciones
Puedes ver y cambiar tu perfil en la app cuando quieras. Para pedir una copia de tus datos o borrar tu cuenta, escribe a hello@getmeetpoint.com desde el email o teléfono con el que entras. Según dónde vivas (por ejemplo, California o la Unión Europea) tienes derechos adicionales de acceso, rectificación, supresión y oposición; los respetamos para todo el mundo.
Menores
MeetPoint no está pensado para menores de 16 años y no recogemos sus datos a sabiendas.
Cambios
Si cambiamos esta política, actualizaremos la fecha de arriba y, si el cambio es importante, te avisaremos en la app.
